Fancy a drink?

While Dillon was here we got to visit Margate. It's one of my favourite place to visit, as I get to spend a lot of my time with David here. The sun came out, and the sky was blue. It was really warm, so the best time to be beside the sea. We did quite a lot in Margate on this day, more of which I will talk about soon, but this post is all about the cute coffee shops/ restaurants/ bars we visited.

First up was Proper Coffee. This super cute place is always top of my list of place to visit while I am in Margate. The coffee is always so good, and sandwiches are always the first thing I order. The style and decor of the place is super relaxed and quirky. I love the different rooms, and the giant chalkboard with lots of fun things to do in Margate.

Proper coffee is defiantly my favourite place to stop when in Margate. The chilled out vibes make the whole coffee shop perfect. The best place to relax with friends or sit and type away on your laptop. I first stumbled across this gorgeous place when it was raining with friends. It turned out to be the best thing we did all day.

The next place we visited was a brand new place called Word Up. I was drawn to the beautiful giant coffee sign above the bar. It was still very new, and lots still needed to be finished, but we enjoyed the drinks anyway. The fact we didn't have wifi was annoying, but it will be sorted soon as they are still working on the space. They had amazing lights on the walls, which I think they make and sell. The lights really make the space. So bright and fun.

Then later in the afternoon we nipped into the Cupcake Cafe. It has been given a brand new makeover and inside is now a dark blue. We had to visit because when I'm in Margate I have to have a cupcake. The cupcakes are still the best, and always make me smile!

Just before we went home we tried this new bar on the seafront and it was called The Bottle Shop. This again was very nice, and had just opened! I loved the fresh and clean style of the place. The guys behind the bar were friendly and happy to help with advice on what to drink. We ordered drinks and sat with the warm sunshine on our faces.

After our drinks and fish and chips, we caught the train back. More on our adventure in Margate soon!

Made in Herne Bay pop-up shop

I am very proud to be part of an amazing group of artists and designers. I am part of Made in Herne Bay, a wonderful group of people I now get to call friends. We all came together because we all make interesting pieces of work, and thanks to meeting Kate, this group was formed. I am so grateful and hounded to be part of this up and coming art group. We have put on various events over the years, including our Winter and Summer markets. We are all looking forward to doing an exhibition at The Seaside Museum in Herne Bay. However we are currently enjoying using the amazing Pebble and Dash shop space to put on our Summer pop-up shop! We decided against a Summer market this year, and will be focusing on our Christmas Winter market, but we wanted a chance to sell our work over the Summer months.

The shop had it's first open day on Saturday 14th May. We had lots of visitors and even more on social media saying they couldn't wait to visit one of the other days we will be open. Our next open day is Saturday 11th June! We have lots of different pieces for sale as our group is full of different artists with different practices. You will find prints, cushions, stationary, jewellery, enamelware, ceramics, cards and lots more! Plus you will be able to meet many of the artists at our open days.

We will be open Sat 11th June, Sat 9th & Sun 10th July, Sat 13th & Sun 14th Aug from 10am till 4pm, so make sure you pop down and see us and our work! You can find about more about this event, upcoming events and the artists on our twitter, Facebook and instagram pages.

Coffee date by the sea

Monday afternoon I met David for coffee. We decided to visit Very Vintage as we had a lovely time last visit.
The coffee shop always looks different, as the changing of stock helps. Lots of gems to look through. We ordered coffee and they appeared in the cutest China cups. Such a perfectly English way to drink coffee.
That morning I had managed to track down some of the Disney Lego mini figures which are meant to come out this week, but a store had them early. We opened them in the shop, and I was really happy with my pulls. Hurray for Disney Lego!
Then we went treasure hunting. I love looking through all the amazing vintage and charity shops by the sea. You never know what you will find, and that's always so exciting.

Coffee date

The other day I had a creative meeting with some pals in the coolest coffee shop/vintage store. I got to Very Vintage in Herne Bay a little earlier so I could just relax before the meeting.
I ordered my coffee, and it appeared in the cutest teacup which was a lovely surprise. I also ordered a brownie which came with a tiny pot of cream. Just too cute to handle, and very delicious too!
Having coffee surrounded by lots of gorgeous clothes is amazing but also dangerous for my wallet. After a while the others turned up and we had a great meeting planning a few upcoming events. Being creative is always the main drive in my life, it keeps me going, keeps me happy, but it's also giving me amazing friends and artists to work with.

Movie date by the sea

We took a little trip to Ramsgate in Thursday. I took my brand new Batman tote out for a trip. I am in love with the print. I am starting up my ever growing tote collection again. And I guess that's not a bad thing.
We wandered down to the seafront to view the gorgeous boats and the beautiful blue sea. We went to our favourite cinema on the seafront to watch a little film called Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film was amazing, well done Joss.
The cinema is so old fashioned, in a wonderful way. It's even down to the great ticket stubs they give you. Which always adds character.
After the film, which again of course was awesome (yay for Scarlet Witch) we wandered along the seafront and into the town. The building are always so beautiful, and have so much history.
Also, I managed to pick up Star Wars cereal! Which I am far too excited about. We never have any fun cereals in the UK anymore. I can't wait to visit the US this summer and fill my suitcase up with yummy cereals.

Adventure? Sure, let's go!

So the first day of my week off was spent waking up super early, and heading down to the local bootsale. Plus the night before I went out for drinks with new friends, which was ever so lovely. I can't wait to move to the seaside permanently. I love the sea air. I had my new Little Mermaid tote with me.
We wandered around and I found some vintage Trolls, which I was very excited about! I may have nearly jumped up and down. I looked through them, and found 4 that I really wanted. They just need a little clean, and they will be perfect on my shelf with my other little treasures. I picked some other cute bits and pieces up, and then we hoped onto a bus to Whitstable.
We arrived rather early so we went for breakfast at a Peter Cushing restaurant, which used to be a theatre. It's a beautiful building. After breakfast we wandered and visited a craft fair, a few more cute little shops, and purchased cupcakes.
The shops in Whitstable are always so perfect. I could just spend all of my money in them. So many quirky little homeware treasures.
I always love to wander around pretty little towns. Exploring is always an adventure.
