"i wonder if people who die normally have stars...i miss stars"

last night i did not watch a movie like i had planned...however i just finished watching Wristcutters: A Love Story just now. when you get a movie to watch that says it contains a suicide theme, you don't really think its going to be the nicest film to watch. however i did find much joy in it. the whole movie starts out with very dull colours, to set the tone of the movie. when the main lead thinks of home the screen fills with bright colours.
one quote that i love from the movie is based around the fact there are no stars in the sky. "..i wonder if people who die normally have stars...i miss stars." another sad thing about where they are is that they cannot smile. the friendship between the 3 main actors is wonderful, there is a scene in which they are all in the car singing along to one of the three's tape.
another part of the movie which i love is where they are at a petrol station and they try to drive away and the pump is still in the car, so they pull it right off. then Zia has to go inside and fill out a form. one of the questions is the following;
What were you thinking when the accident happened?
..at this point Zia looks out of the window and looks at Mikal.
the whole film is filled to the brim with sadness and happiness, i do not want to reveal the ending as you should all go and rent this. this movie is filled with spray painted flowers, chewing gum, de-facing signs, black holes, and love.
on a lighter note i came across these beautiful little things;
they are ment to be Michael Cera and Ellen Page as Bleeker and Juno from Juno. i found this image on Flickr. i really want to go out and make my own now!! they can be found here . the creator of these has also made other finger puppets based on her favourite movies. i am in love with these!

'Finding love was never so... Awkward' VS 'Life is a trip, but the afterlife is one hell of a ride'

ah what a random day it has been. not really been up to much, which has been nice. just catching up with different people. messed around in the garden a bit today. this little creature is my find of the day. she was found in the garage in a box that we were sorting out...and she is very clean!!
i also got an award from the ever so fun and cool Art Music Fashion and Random-ness and the beautiful Una Bella Vita A Beautiful Life, but had not got round to putting it on my blog.
according to the rules of the award i'm supposed to give the award to blogs i love, who are then supposed to give it to some of their favorites. these are the ones that i have chosen..although they may have got it before.. :)
Paris Tarts, samantha-maryann, blog full of jelly and Ali Rae

tonight i have a toss up between two movies to watch...one i have seen and the other i have not seen. the one that i have seen, and love, is Eagle vs Shark...you couldn't get a better movie. 'Finding love was never so... Awkward' Lily is an awkward fast food waitress, excluded because she simply doesn't fit. wrong dress, wrong walk, wrong talk, wrong everything. yet beneath all the wrong is a little bit of wonderful.. the object of lily's affections, Jarrod. Jarrod is a video game champion, determined to win respect but pushing all the wrong buttons. but when Jarrod returns to his home town on a mission of revenge, lovestruck lily follows him.

the movie is a delight! its really awkward, but wonderful. it makes you hope that there is someone for everyone.
if not watching Eagle vs Shark, i might watch Wristcutters: A Love Story. i have had this movie on my shelf for ages, but never found the right moment to watch it. Upset over his breakup with Desiree, Zia slashes his wrists and goes to an afterlife peopled by suicides, a high-desert landscape dotted by old tires, burned-out cars, and abandoned sofas. He gets a job in a pizza joint. By chance, Zia learns that Desiree killed herself a few months after he did, and she's looking for him. He sets off with Eugene (an electrocuted Russian rocker) to find her, and they pick up a hitchhiker, Mikal, who's looking for the People in Charge, believing she's there by mistake. it sounds really moving, and i have heard really good things about it.

"where do you go to my lovely.."

ah another day goes by... had a few hours at work which was really good. and got quite a few hours all next week, so that's great!! so happy to be back. even tho i only did a few hours at work, it still wore me out! i am not used to standing on my feet all day!! plus i had to get back to remembering where everything is!last night when i was up really late sorting out my stuff in my room, (hopefully i can get rid of bits and pieces ie; eBay or at a boot sale) i came across an old video my dad got me years ago!! it was Pieces of April with Kate Holmes. i dusted it off, and put the tape in my video player, i was very surprised. it was an odd, weird tone sort of movie, right up my street...however i believe that if i had watched this when i was given it...i don't think i would have liked it. but i enjoyed watching it last night. it was very sad and showed how important family is. its about a wayward daughter who invites her dying mother and the rest of her estranged family to her apartment for Thanksgiving dinner.
tonight i am going to watch the Darjeeling Limited. its one of my favourite movies. Wes Anderson is amazing. and i absolutely love Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody and Owen Wilson too!!!
Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other -- to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins.
the soundtrack to the movie is gorgeous! plus i love the short film just before the Darjeeling limited; Hotel Chevalier; starring Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman. i love her and everything she does.
simply a beautiful movie. wonderful. :) plus..Jason is amazing!

convention a-go-go

i am very much looking forward to going to the London Film and Comic Con on Sunday with my dad and sister. i have saved some money just for the day. so far, anyone that is of interest to me, that is going are Sendhil Ramamurthy aka Mohinder Suresh and David Anders aka Adam Monroe. ah i can't wait! i am a big Heroes fan. it would be nice if more people were added, but its better than nothing! also there are all the stalls too!! its at Earls Courts 2 in London...lots of places to spend my money on lovely SCI-FI things!! plus, gonna go to the Doctor Who Exhibition..wahoo!
while looking for pictures, i came across some funny ones of the Heroes cast goofing around...

what's your favourite t-shirt??

i came across this picture of Michael Cera, which then lead me to the website ew.com; from Entertainment Weekly
on the site there is a special gallery 15 Stars In Their Favorite T-Shirts. each star had a really cool, odd, sweet, weird, or just down right funny story about their favorite tee.
These are just a few of the stars on the website, i love these photos, and their stories behind their T-Shirts.
Michael Cera- ''I think it has something to do with Land O Lakes butter." That's just a guess, though. I bought it at a second-hand store in Atlanta. It's the only shirt in there that fit me."
Alyson Hannigan-The late John Ritter gave this tee to Hannigan after his guest spot on Buffy in 1997. ''Every time I see it I have such love in my heart for John. And I miss him.''
Portia de Rossi- stole her Iggy Pop shirt from an ex-boyfriend — ''That should tell you how old it is,'' she cracks.
Jason Segel- his new favorite band, Instant Sorrow. ''They're a British band, a little bit like Oasis, or early U2"
this gallery just made me smile.
at the moment my favourite t-shirt would have to be my "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" tee or my Thomson Gold shirt i won on holiday. it just goes to show that everything has a meaning and a story behind..even an old T-shirt. go check out the rest, including; Jack McBrayer, Rainn Wilson, Jonah Hill, Andy Richter, Tina Fey and more!!! go to http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20058887_20058911_20152193_8,00.html
