everything IS beautiful..

i have finally finished Everything Beautiful by Simmone Howell. it was such a beautiful book...i really do recommend you do check it out, it doesn't take very long to read, so if you want a quick and interesting, light-hearted read full of love and odd friendships, read this. 'Riley Rose, atheist and all-round rebel, has been tricked by her father and his irritating new girlfriend into spending her summer at spirit ranch holiday camp. There Riley meets Dylan Luck, recent paraplegic and fellow misfit-on-a-mission, and together they turn the camp upside down. Truths are told, secrets revealed and Riley's dreaded week away turns out to have life-changing significance...'
ah so today was a sorting out day...trying to decide what things i need and what things i do not need!!! de-clutter my room so to speak. i always seem to find things of interest when i do this, whether it be old badges or old art work.i was reading through an old newspaper from the other day and came across this amazing artist. her name is Mari Kasurinen as she takes my little pony dolls and recreates them into something new, based on a theme or certain movie! they are brillant, just look at them!!! :) how funny and sute are they! some of them do not even seem like they could have been a my little pony doll!! you can find her work on her flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/marikasurinen/

home sweet home

so i am back home in my little town, away from noise, uni, lots of people. when i get home from uni, i know that i am home...but i don't feel i am home anymore...i am not sure where i belong now. don't get me wrong, i am welcomed back by family and friends who are so happy to see me..but i just have the feeling because i am away at uni for long periods of time..the idea of home is sipping away..and its not my home anymore...well not until summer when i come home for good.now i was happy to be going home for the Easter holidays..however now i am back i am not sure. its a weird thing..when you don't have something you miss it so much...but when you do have it..you long for a difference. i know its silly...but knowing i only have a couple of months left living away from home at uni, living with my flatmates-my best friends that i have only known just under 3 years-who i now believe to be life long friends, living in a city, being able to do what i want, go wherever i want...and that will all soon disapear..forever..it makes me sad. and i don't want to lose it all just yet.
so home! well mum has finally chosen a wallpaper for the living room, its on one wall, and i love it so much. its beautiful.
i went to a boot sale today..eek, its good to be back looking through junk and looking for beautiful finds. i found an old doctor's bag (i need to give it a good clean before i take a good photo), some old photos, a child's letter to their parents, an old pop up Christmas card, and a beautiful bird pin. i think i am going to start collecting broaches, i think i have fallen in love with them.

it's opener there, in the wide open air.

i was tagged by the beautiful The tea drinking english rose to do the 'show your heart tag'...with as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in: 1 picture, 1 poem, 1 song or piece of music, 1 phrase or quote, 1 piece of clothing, 1 place and (just for fun) 1 Disney princess.
picture:
(my garden state drawings)
poem:
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."

With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any your want to go down.
In that case, of course you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there
in the wide open air.

(a small section from Oh, The Places You'll Go!- Dr Seuss.)
song or piece of music: Cathedrals- Jars of Clay, its the only song that has ever brought me to tears.
quote: "You got to hear this one song, it will change your life."- Sam, Garden State.
piece of clothing: my amazing Thompson t-shirt which i won on holiday.
place: my nan's beautiful house, which was giant. and full of wonderful things from all her travels with grandad.
