In Colourful Company at Dreamland

Instagram has given me some amazing people in my life. I am so thankful for that. A while ago I went to my first In Colourful Company walk in London. It was lots of fun and got to meet some amazing people. A couple of weekends ago I went to the In Colourful Company event at Dreamland in Margate. 

I was excited to visit Dreamland this summer after its little re-vamp since last year. It did not disappoint. You could see how much effort they had put into the re-opening. Lots more places to sit, food trucks, more rides and a giant bouncy castle! The whole park just had an amazing vibe about it.

The park is so colourful and a perfect place to hold one of Toni's events. Toni is the founder of In Colourful Company, and I am so lucky to know her and be able to call her a friend of mine. She is simply wonderful. When we first got to Dreamland our joint host for this event was Leona of Lucky Dip Club. We started the day off by taking group photos by the 1000 smiles per hour sign.

After that we all went on rides and wandered around the park taking photos. I finally got to go on the main ride at the park, the railway. It was so fun, and a little scary on those wooden tracks. I eat yummy food and sweet treats. There was lots of awesome food trucks for us to choose what ever we wanted to eat or drink. I had this awesome pizza plus of course I had to grab some candy floss. Probably the best candy floss I have ever had!!!! We had a perfect private hut for us all to use, which was amazing! The whole day was filled with so much colour, everyone snapping photos and meeting new people.

Seriously though I had the best day with an awesome gang of ladies, who all met through instagram. I am already looking forward to heading up to Manchester for the next In Colourful Company event. Too excited already! Roll on Manchester!

Best friends forever

This post is one of those posts you end up writing when you know you have something good in your life. Someone really special, someone who you can't believe how lucky you are to know them, for you to be your friend. Yes, thats right, your friend. Many years of my life I was not a person with lots of good friends in her life. It took me to grow up and learn the special people will find you later on in life. This friend I seem to be rambling on about is my good pal Tom. 

I was lucky enough to meet him many years ago through instagram. We followed each other for a while, I have no idea how he found me on instagram back then, but he did. We ended up being in the same place at the same time without even knowing it till we had both left. Of course we found this out via instagram. We both had a super interest in cards and other fun things. At the time Tom was even more mysterious because I did not know his actual name, just his Instagram name; foxesandcats. Friends would always call him via that even when I eventually found out his name, that was how he would be known.

So one crazy rainy-storm-madness day we met in Brighton. I remember walking up to the clock tower and seeing his crazy giant hair (he used to have his insane hair, huge) coming towards me. My mum always thought he looked like he could have been a Doctor from Doctor Who. I just remember spending the most amazing day hanging out with him. And we have been friends ever since. It was started with a hashtag; nicolaandthefoxescardventure. You can go back on Instagram and check the photos out. Oh the filters we used. Eek.

I hopped on a train on a tuesday afternoon, straight from work to Margate. Tom and his amazing girlfriend Marta were visiting for Tom's birthday. I went and spent the most wonderful afternoon with them both. Marta is unbelievable perfect for Tom. She is beautiful, creative, oodles of fun, with a pinch of crazy. The good crazy. Because Tom has always been a little bit out there, I mean all you have to do is ask my mum about his head in the tumbler dryer incident, these two are just meant to be. It makes me so happy to see him happy.

I am very lucky to have found a friend in Tom. He has always been so supportive of my art work, and has always pushing be to be better just like David has. Having both of them is something so special. I still think its so amazing that platforms like Instagram, twitter, blogger and just the internet in general has given me my favourite people, and I will always be grateful for that. Forever.

Action packed week

So sadly I had to say goodbye to my amazing friend Dillon on Monday morning. I was lucky enough to meet Dillon through blogging. Life is crazy and I seem to meet the best people on the Internet. I had a wonderful time while he stayed with me and we explored London and pretty cute towns nearby. Looking back now I feel so happy about everything we did. I am very happy with all the adventures we had, but I am also still very tired. I don't think I have ever walked so much in my life.

I think it's not until you relax, you really get to enjoy life. We spend so much time working and working, and waiting for our days off to finally have adventures. This past week I was getting up early, grabbing my bag and visiting a new town or city for cultural fun. I don't think I have been like that since when I was at university. Life seems so care free, and I always seemed to have the time to visit art galleries. Now it's hard to find the time, and when you do it's extra special. But this last week was different. I planned adventures, and had those adventures. Made those memories, took so many photos, and loved life. Life is good, and even more so with my amazing friends and loved ones by my side.

Unexpected visit to Clutch

So we honestly chose the worst day to visit the Colombia flower market while Dillon was here. Oh, by the way, DILLON IS HERE. HE IS ACTUALLY HERE. We hopped on a train with Charlotte and met Tom in London. The heavens opened and it rained, so hard. We really did get soaked. Our waterproof jackets did not serve us well. We ended up wandering around in the rain for quite a bit of time. I ended up getting grumpy, and we really needed to find somewhere to escape the rain. 

I am a true believer in everything happens for a reason. We wandered some more, and then we spotted this gorgeous yellow building. It looked super quirky and I was drawn to it immediately. The restaurant/cafe was called Clutch. 

We walked in dripping all over the place. We were shown to a table in this small but busy room. So straight away I was drawn to this place. The table was gorgeous. Shiny/gold/mirrored table was kinda perfect. We ordered coffees and then chose our food, which happened to be brunch. Lots of chatting and getting to know each other better was done, and then our food arrived. It really was delicious. I ordered the banana bread with the most perfect topping. It really does make my mouth water when I think about it.

One of my favourite things about this restaurant, apart from the fact it was yellow and the food was great, was the amazing black/white patterned wall around the side. I think we stood next to that wall for quite sometime taking photos. It just shows that you plan everything down to the wire, but sometimes the best adventures and memories happen when you least suspect it. May this continue to happen in my life, because the un-known is always the most exciting.

The Fault in Our Stars bench

It's important to be in love and experience love. I never used to think this, well not until I met someone very special. I mean of course I loved my family and friends, but I had never truly felt love until David. That one special person that makes every dull day bright, makes your heart do little leaps for joy and gives you butterflies, and you smile whenever you see them. 

I read the Fault in our Stars a long time ago. Its a beautiful book by John Green. I decided to finally watch the film before my trip to Amsterdam. Immy said she would take us to the bench, the actual bench from the film. We walked through gorgeous streets in the bright sunshine for ages, until out the corner of my eye I could see it. I could see where Hazel and Augustus had sat. 

The bench had been removed a while ago so they could clean it up. However I was happy to see such cute messages written all over the bench. Lots of people have left their heart on that bench. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining down. Perfect way to spend an afternoon. Thinking about life and the people you have in it. Life is to be treasured, enjoyed and lived to the full.

Let's go fly away!

So it's time. My bag is packed. I'm getting butterflies, so it must mean I'm going on an adventure. I'm off to Amsterdam with my best friend Sarah to visit and stay with our friend Immy. It seems like we have been planning this trip forever, and now it's nearly time to go. I'm ready for new places, seeing new things and just enjoying myself. We all work so hard, we keep going, never stopping to enjoy life. But we should. We should pause and relax. Take everything in and live every moment. 

We have lots planned. Immy has an amazing list of places to see and things to do. I look forward to writing about all of them soon. I'm leaving for the airport at 6:15am, so I know it will be a long day. All packed. Ready to go. Lets hope I didn't forget anything!

Turning 28

So I turned 28 on Tuesday. 28...gosh that sounds so strange. I woke up with the sun shining through the window. A few little presents were opened, and then we wandered down the road to have breakfast. We decided to go to the Green Door Deli. David mentioned it was my birthday, and the guys said I could have a free birthday desert. David treated me to birthday pancakes and the guys gave me extra bacon.

We then went into Canterbury to meet my awesome friend Sarah. We looked around the cute shops and then decided to go for lunch. We went to my favourite cafe in Canterbury, Cafe turquoise. We had iced coffees and sandwiches.

I got such wonderful gifts such as a new Kanken, holiday money for my trip, and fun boardgames.

I also received the greatest balloon, which was a huge Hello Kitty! I am so in love with it. My mum made me a pastel rainbow cake, and it was the most tasty cake ever! Go mumma Jennings! I had a brilliant day with family and friends. Being 28 isn't too bad so far.

i don't think i will be sleeping tonight

oh my goodness.

lina is on her plane right now. i can't quite believe it...after all this time, we finally get to meet! and have adventures.

gah. i have so much to still do...plus need to sleep a little. although, i doubt i will be doing much of that. so, going to the airport tomorrow to pick lina up, and then the adventures begin.

forever yours

just watched Alex Day on the radio 1 web cam....man, hes so cute and awkward. i really want forever yours as the Christmas number 1...sadly, i know that's not going to happen.anyway, i am feeling the Christmas spirit at the moment. apart from being really ill this morning with throwing up and feeling like death..i have put on a brave face and got on with it.

finishing wrapping presents today for some work colleges. one of my friends loves opening presents. a good example of this would be that i have to wrap her birthday/Christmas card as well, so she has more to open. i was inspired by a wonderful package i got through the post from my friend Sophy which was full of tiny little presents wrapped up..therefore she has a box full of tiny individually wrapped gifts. i cant wait to see her face.

i have come to the conclusion either my friends know me really well, or i am just a giant nerd. i have received some wonderful presents from close friends recently, including hp and star wars Lego sets, doctor who mugs, a Starbucks mug, beautiful handmade necklaces, notebooks, and other crazy little things.

its one of my managers birthday today. we are working two night shifts this week, 6pm till 4am..the first one tonight. she is bringing birthday cake, and i have wrapped up some party hats for her, so we can wear them tonight. all night. that's my aim.

why hello! wave please?

so i had the best weekend. i went with my awesome friend Sarah to Hallowhedon, which is a Joss Whedon convention. so much fun was had. in the beginning i kinda just wanted to go because Amber Benson was going, and she was one of my favourite characters from Buffy. however Adam Busch who plays Warren was brilliant. he was such an awesome guy, so funny and cute. i am obsessed with his band common rotation.

all the time. they sing folk music, so therefore i love.other the weekend i met some wonderful people, had many chats and dances with people, laughed so much, took so many photos, dressed up quite a few times, eat so much food, went to many talks, quiz's, had photos taken, and honestly just had a good time. i met people from all over, and even other countries. there is something special about people from all over coming together for the same reason, because of something they love.coming back to normal everyday life isn't so much fun though. work is so busy, why, its like Christmas. all i need is some Christmas music and it would feel like Christmas. i am stocking up on Christmas music, with my old cd's and a few new ones i need to purchase. in other news i am planning the work Christmas party/meal with my manager, which is kinda fun...although i feel it might get a tad stressful nearer the time.
