in the woods

i stole this ring from my friend...i say stole..more just said, "oh, that's awesome, can i have that?" for him to turn around and say "...um, yeah...if you want."

so just got back from my little woodland week away with my family. it was really nice as i went with my parents, grandparents and sister. it was god to escape for a while, just to be somewhere else. living within the trees always makes me think of twilight...and mainly because i first read the twilight series years ago on holiday in the same place.as well as chilling out, i had lots of random adventures. these included, going swimming, going to walks, playing cards and board games..and other cute things. mum, Victoria and me went to paint pieces of pottery again this year. i was thinking of doing another plate, but i walked in, and there on the shelf was a dalek staring back at me...needless to say i grabbed that.we also went to Longleat. i have not been there in a few years, but i was really looking forward to this little adventure. Longleat is such a wonderful place.we walked through and looked at lots of cute animals including meerkats (which my grandad loves, so he had a great time). i also held this:...its crazy, but i didn't feel scared at all. weird. i thought i would want to run away screaming...so if i spider appears in my room one night, i don't think i will be scared anymore after holding this one. we also went around the house, which as always was beautiful and made me want to live there, even though there are ghosts. we also ran into Lord Bath as he was taking his dogs out or in, and he said hello to us..that was pretty cool. i also went on a little tour to look at his murals, which were beautiful and gave you an insight to Lord Bath and his art. the whole place is just beautiful. the sun also came out that day for us. the rest of the holiday was spent laughing lots, drawing, taking photos, listening to my sister say the weirdest things in her sleep, playing lots of games of cards, drinking so much tea, eating so many sweets, watching glee while my family laugh at me for singing and squealing, watching tv late, all staying up until 3ish in the morning, talking to far away friends about up and coming plans next week, buying gifts for friends and just being me. its nice. i had such fun.

away i went

i had a lovely time away on holiday. i loved being in the woods surrounded by giant trees, green-ness, quiet noise, earth, animals and even more trees. i am deeply in love with trees at the moment.my days away consisted of; swimming, bike riding, walking, crazy golf, trees, late nights, early mornings, long car drives, pick n mix sweets, toy shops, movie nights, home made pop corn, my mother's pancakes, chalk boards, giant cookies, walking on the sand, messing around with my sister, painting pottery, singing, eating 'weirds', buying presents for friends, Polaroid photos, filling in my drawing journal, buying cool stuff, reading twilight again, and taking photos.
i had such a wonderful time away..and didn't want to come back home...back to normal life. ah i wish i could go back into the woods. i really do miss it. i am fully in love with the views..oh how i miss it already...i had to add this photo in somewhere...my dad was washing up (even though we had a dishwasher at our Villa?!?!..and it was his holiday..) and he shouted, 'Nicola, come look at this, you will want to bring your camera..". and it was this little face in the sink, i couldn't stop smiling.i enjoyed drawing and writing in my drawing journal, i just need to keep it up.my wonderful bag of holiday goodies! including the lovely bag. :)i am now off to read your lovely blogs! and then after to watch the office, an American workplace, while eating holiday chocolates, and maybe read a little too.

i heart rome.

i heart rome.
i had the most beautiful time, full of laughs, good food, amazing ice creams and friends i will love forever. i got up nice and early on monday morning to meet friends to catch the skylink bus to the airport. the flight was fun, and full of laughs. plus i was still reading yes man- by danny wallace. he was making me laugh. when we got to rome, it took us about 45 mins to get to the hotel. i shared with 3 other lovely people. our room was cute.
after we had un-packed and sorted our room out we went to the colloseum. it was breathtaking, simply stunning!!! i know it sounds a bit geeky, but all i could think of was the movie jumper!! jamie bell...eek!! :)
during my few days in rome, i had so much fun. i don't think i have laughed so much in such a long time. it was great to hang out with old friends. the food was wonderful, the sights were breathtaking, the buildings were grand and the art was amazing.
i did find a really beautiful church. on the railings outside the church was hundreds of padlocks. all these padlocks had peoples names on them. couples names. i thought it must be all the people they may have gotten married in the church, or visitors may have put them there. it was amazing.i said that i would have an ice cream diary, and i had 4 amazing ice creams, but quite a few flavours, these included cookie dough/biscuit, white ice cream with dark chocolate pieces, coconut, mint (which was very very strong), vanilla lemon, fudge with chocolate pieces, and another version of coconut and mint...with cream! :)the ceilings and building were beautiful in rome. every church or building held something wonderful. one building i loved was the Pantheon. the Pantheon does not have a roof, so the rain, light, dark and come in. its amazing to look up so high.
other places i enjoyed visiting were the Vatican, the Sistine chapel, and St.Peters.
apart from the ceiling i loved the floors in all these beautiful buildings. tiles, mosaics, patterns.fun was had. however i am glad to be back..i missed silly English things like tea, reading the paper, and watching telly. :)

when in rome..

ah i am packing and i am leaving my flat at 2.45 in the morning to catch the bus with my friends to take us to the airport..so we can go to ROME!! i wasn't really looking forward to it that much..i am not sure why. i think it might be because recently i have gotten a little scared when flying. but i am hoping i will be OK. i am off to Rome until Friday when i get back. my tutor keeps going on and on about all the different ice cream, so i will be keeping an 'ice cream diary' to see how many different ones i can have. :)
i hope everyone is ok, and speak to you soon!! :D

5 beautiful days

ah i am back from my week days away..and it was lovely. peace and quiet...a chance to chill out....and get a cold! oh well i still had a wonderful time. i don't think i have laughed quite as much as i did in just those days. i had lots of laughs with my father, mother and sister. it was really nice being in the outdoors, surrounded by nature. and we had very cute animals coming up to our Villa everyday..cute squirrels, ducks, rabbits and even a very young deer. it was so refreshing being in the woods, or "being back with nature". it was wonderful walking up in the morning listening to the birds singing, and squirrels running across the roof, eating breakfast looking out at the woods with the sun shining, taking the 10min walk into the village square to go swimming, go shopping to pick up food and gift for friends, or even for a coffee or a pancake. it just felt really nice to relax and take things easy.one really cool thing that me and my sister loved, was the Sherbet machine!! in this amazing sweet shop you got little tubes and filled it up with different types/flavours of sherbet; including cranberry, strawberry, orange, cola, bubblegum, lime, peach and so many more..and they looked so pretty, and very yummy too.

..hooplaaa hooplaaaaaaa

ah going home soon...at this point i was getting really sad...why did i wanna go back home?? i had everything here...sun, fun, and family.
we had a game of bean bag boules today, and my mum really wanted to win a t-shirt...and she did!!! she won the game!
we had pool next, and mark won, and then played Jo...one of the funniest things i have ever watched!
we then had hoopla..or whatever you call it..i was rubbish again!! haha.
karen our maid left us a cute suprise in our room when we got back....then later on, we had deal or dont deal game show!!haha, i put my name in for it, but didnt get choosen. but did get to open a box off stage and on it, as it was soooo windy outside, glasses were falling off tables and smashing!! what a great final night!!

...read a good book recently?

the day started off with skittles..and people all thought i was gonna win again...but i didn't!! i was rubbish...but then i got better, but still didn't win. Roger won, and he has been trying 3 years to get a t-shirt, so i was very happy for him!!!

it was chocolate night, which means at dinner there are lots and lots of little chocolates that you can take away with you...me and my sister always try to get as many as we can!! the evening was nice, not too warm or cold...sitting outside listening to 2020, the resident duo....man the guy can't sing!!
in the hotel there is a mini swap library, where if you want to leave books for the next guests you can take one with you...also you can just read them while you are staying in the hotel. its really interesting to walk and have a little nose at what people have been reading.
